About
A general store, run plainly.
Veritas Mercantile is an online general goods store. We sell things for the kitchen, the hearth and the workshop, chosen on one rule: if it cannot be repaired, we do not stock it.
What we sell
Sixty products across nine departments — enamelware and stoneware for the table, wool and forged iron for the hearth, vegetable-tanned leather and waxed canvas to carry things in, hand tools, lighting, linens, desk goods, field kit and shaving.
Prices run from twelve dollars for a set of tea towels to eight hundred and fifty for a leather steamer trunk. Most of the shop sits between forty and two hundred and fifty.
How we buy
We look at the material first. A handle that can be rehung, a blade that can be reground, a rug that can be rewoven. That rules out a great deal, which is why the shelves are sixty deep rather than six hundred.
Every product on this site was photographed for it. Nothing here is a supplier’s stock image.
The house-mark
Each piece carries a small struck mark, applied the way its own material takes one: blind-debossed into leather, branded into the foot of a board, glazed into stoneware, cast into iron, woven into a selvedge tag. It is a merchant’s mark — the oldest kind of trademark there is.
The business
Veritas Mercantile is a trading name of Veritas Analytical, LLC, a Texas limited liability company. We operate online only, direct to consumers, from 1727 Keller Parkway, Suite 18, Keller, TX 76248. There is no physical shopfront and no showroom.
